4/10

I finally went down to Hilltop today. It's just a short distance from school, walkable. About 4-5 stops by bus, or the nearest MRT station would be Clarke Quay. I met Cindy at LKCSB/SOB (not so good to call your school SOB) and took 190 to Clarke Quay. Ah... It was drizzling heavily. My slippers are pretty worn out at the sole already. New slippers soon! Hilltop is pretty small, but it suffices. As long as it's just the fight team there, I think there should be enough space for training.
We started with our warm up. 20 minutes non-stop skipping with that horrible skipping rope. It is super rigid. It's like a hose, vacuum inside, plus it's weighted. My arms were really burning. I've never skipped till my arms hurt that bad before. And my toes were being abused by the "hose". Fucking painful. I am not even kidding. So many times I wanted to stop lor. But I just cursed and continued. Why did they ask us to bring shoes then?! Haha.
Coach asked us for all our weights. And a lot of people have to lose weight. Apparently it's strategy. But I don't quite get it. If you get muscular, you will probably get heavier since muscle is denser than fat, right? How are the guys going to lose weight? And the girls? Luckily I don't have to lose any. Optimum already. The other girls have to lose 4-5kg in one month. I am glad I am not them now. I also realise that Ivy is the only tall girl. The rest of the girls in the fight team are about my height, in fact I am taller than some of them. Hmmm. Short girls are tough! :D So... According to my weight and height group, I have to work most on my low kicks, jabs and crosses.

Today's session went something like this:
20 mins skipping
20 mins shadow boxing
20 mins of practicing our punches (BASICS! so tough...)
Approx 50-60mins bag work (including left and right roundhouse kicks and knees)
We also had one-on-one training with Terence.
I really much rather train at Hilltop than at school. You get much more attention at Hilltop. There's just way too many people in school during training. Terence says we need to get our equipment quick. I am still waiting for mine!!!! Will be so excited to get my sparring gloves, wraps, shorts! Gotta look the part too :P
Spent about 3 hours at training. Am damn shag now! Think I will sleep early tonight, for once. I should! I am bruised at the shins from kicking the bags, skin is coming off on my knees (straightening my leg is f-ing painful) and my feet has cuts, which are bleeding from too much feet contact with the bags (which is WRONG! I need to walk on hitting the bags with more of my shin).
Showering's a BITCH!

Lunch:

Post-workout:
1 tuna sandwich

Dinner:

Soup
Orange milkshake (sounds odd, but tastes good!)

Was giving the girls some diet advice. Terence already asked us not to eat anything white. Which means, I am fine. But for others, I think cutting out their white rice and white bread is going to be tough. I remember struggling the first few weeks when I decided to cut out rice and noodles from my diet. Oh, but he also said, don't cut carbs, just eat good carbs. I guess it's ok. I still have my good carbs everyday. Feeling carb-deprived really sucks, I know!
