29/10

Just got back from fight team training at Hilltop. I know Hilltop is now open to the entire SMU Muay Thai club, but the "recreational" people... From over 40 people squeezing at the T-junction, I think there are less than 10 now. And the girls who came to look at the hot guys are gone too. They probably thought it wasn't worth torturing themselves just to see the guys. Haha!
Today's training was good, though Terence only started coaching us at 8:45pm, instead of 8pm. We skipped for 20 minutes outside. I realise I am quite good at skipping, even with our special muay thai ropes. Heavy and rigid. Cross and doubles, backwards. HAHA! I think Fabian was like WTF, why I so zai, can do crosses consecutively and backwards too! :D Skipping is so fun. My calves have whip marks on them. And I don't know who it was who said I must have some fetish which I engage in with my bf. Oh right. Haha. Crazy people.
4 X 4 minutes shadow
Today, the turn up was really good. Most of the fight team was down. Which meant we had to do many rounds of bag work. We used the 5kg medicine ball today too. It is f-ing heavy la. 3 minutes overhead squat with 5kg medicine ball, 3 minutes Russian twists. I think all the girls died. And I thought bag work was tough. Bag work was like rest compared to this la. And I can't grip the medicine ball, kept slipping off. Think it's my handwraps.
We did clinching again today. Think I'm getting better at it!
3 X 20 right roundhouse
3 X 20 left roundhouse
I ended up doing more cos I somehow just can't kick bags. Terence said it's weird cos when I kick him, it seems perfectly fine. Personally, I think it's the fear I have of bruising my shins even more. It hurts like fuck. Not only that... because I don't wrap my feet right around the bag, I end up scraping my feet against the bag, so my skin is torn off again. The burn is bad. Next time I have to tape my blood blister and my feet a little, or wear ankle guard already.
The best part of training today was the kneeing. Terence brought us outside the gym so we could do sprints, followed by knees. The guys did it while the girls were doing bag work. When we got out of the gym, we were wondering why they all looked half dead. I didn't think it would be so tiring but I was wrong. It's the most tiring thing I have ever done during any training. My heart beat so fast after...
It's about a 150-180m sprint back and forth I think. Then 30 right knees, 30 left knees. 3 sets. I know you must be thinking, how tiring can kneeing be. But, apply force and you will see. It feels like plyometrics la. Gotta have that burst. I heard Vanny say "Omg, look at Mad." Almost went crazy. The more breathless I was, the faster I went. Haha. Just wanna get it over and done with man. Torture. I can't even make any sounds to tighten my core, just too breathless... But it was good training. So kick ass!
Ended training with 100 sit ups and push ups. I was wondering why I was so slow. Then I realised, it's because no one is doing it properly! I do push up till wanna die, every 2 I have to break. Ok never mind, slow is fine, so long as you're doing it right.

Supper, which was just Milo for me, nearby Hilltop. Wa I can't believe they can eat bak chor mee and rice so late at night. Haha. I am starving now though.

Food journal 29/10
Breakfast:
Muesli, weetbix, oatmilk

Lunch:
Tofu omelette with 1 slice bread
Meiji coffee milk
Anyway, Bonjour has this 12 grain bread which is really nice! I like it :D

Dinner:

We went to Golden Mile to eat Thai food again! We're all slowly becoming more Thai, thanks to Jinsiong. Jinsiong's gan ma owns a small food stall. The food is really authentic Thai. Jinsiong ordered for us the specialities.
Thai iced milk tea. Super sweet ah!!! Didn't really want an entire glass to myself. But ok la. Give face. Haha.
Basil leaves?
Roasted pork and chicken. The pork is really lean. And the chilli sauce that accompanied was really good.
We had papaya salad too. Jinsiong asked them to cut down the spicyness cos the rest can't really take too much chilli. Not spicy at all to me leh. But Cindy couldn't take it already!
We had sticky steamed rice. I shared with Tingyan a.k.a Ting Ting (so gay) one packet. So cool, the rice comes in plastic! Jinsiong taught us the traditional Thai way of eating. So we used our hands for the entire meal! Really good the food was! I really don't mind going back there again. The roast pork was surprisingly lean too! I think the pork was the best man! This coming from someone who doesn't really like pork. So now, there's this roast pork and Porkfessor X which has won me over (:

Supper:
Milo
We asked for less sugar... Yeah, I don't think that's less sugar. So freaking sweet. Next time I shall ask for no sugar at all!!!!

It's been a good day! I have a meeting at 9am. It's already 2:20am! Hair is still a little damp.
Maybe I shall go gym after meeting. Maybe. But I think I will be too tired in the morning. I still feel the lactic acid from the kneeing!
Can't wait for Steph to upload the video of my roundhouses! Wanna see what I can improve on! Anyway, Steph is my idol! She owns me so bad. Haha. Getting punched in the face is not for everyone. My mouth bled on Wednesday, long story. Anyway, it's still painful when I brush my teeth!!!!

Alrighty! Goodnight!
