Anyway, I need handwraps soon! Mel was supposed to pass mine to me today, but she didn't come for training and now my left wrist hurts.
Today's training started with a run. I'm really forcing myself to run nowadays. After every training, my calves are so so sore. When I run, it is torture! We ran from Hilltop to Esplanade and back. Think that's just 3.5km or something. Calves burning, plus slight stitch. Ran with Paul and Jin, so really had to push myself. Good thing about running with guys. Always got that extra motivation!
2 rounds shadow
Next was bag work. 5 rounds of 3 minutes non-stop bags. Between each sets, 10 pushups. It's not easy doing pushups with gloves on. And not good for wrist too!
Had one round (3 minutes) of pad training with Terence. Jab, cross and hooks. I really gave it my all. And I really felt like dying cos my arms were burning like mad, but I still punched with all the force I could. I love the sound of hitting the pads/bags. Makes me feel strong. HA!
We really had lots of pad training today. And I hardly got a break. Terence, Paul and Jin wore the protectors, and the girls took turns to work on our punches. I got Terence. So shag. He really no mercy. And he kept hitting me (really hit) to make sure that I protected my face. 3 minutes Terence, 3 minutes Jin. Then Terence again. I think I had 6 rounds non-stop. I was the only idiot doing it non-stop la. WTH. How tiring!
Terence then made us do "weights" with the huge ass bags. It's super heavy. And he made us "swing" it for 10 minutes. My arms are so so sore. They were trembling (cos I never slack lor!).
Mmm, what else.. CLINCHING! We learnt clinching on Wednesday. My neck is aching like ^%*#, for the first time in my life. Today, we did clinching again, with Terence. Even the girls. He said we are all super violent. He got elbowed in the eye and scratched till he was bleeding (Vanessa did this with her manicure). Anyway, he is so strong. At least compared to the girls la. And he really flung us around. I think I was flung to the ground at least 5 times in 3 minutes. Shit man. Really flew. But I think I am good at clinching (with girls my size). When I was clinching with Val on Wednesday, she was so so shocked that I had so much strength in me (for my size). The seniors say cos my grip is very strong. Haha! Thanks (: Clinching is so fun, minus your face is your partner's boobs and sharing sweat.
Training was slightly over 3 hours long today. It's really damn shag, especially when you're giving it all you've got with every hit.
Food journal 15/10
Breakfast:
Weetbix and muesli with oatmilk
Lunch:
I had lunch with Ben today, Ran into him at SOE before meeting Ron to discuss our Stats homework. At least I didn't waste time, go school for 15 minutes then travel another 50 minutes home!
We ate at Glassroom Cafe. I have to say this sandwich is awesome. I don't know what bread this is, but it's really good. Has a good texture to it. Nice seeds and herbs too (: It's the Porkfessor X sandwich! Lean pork and pickled vegetables (: Really really nice! I want to eat it again soon (:
Had a Nutty Banana to accompany my meal. Basically, it's hazelnut and banana shake (:
Pre-workout snack:
1 peanut butter and nutella sandwich
Dinner (not really dinner):
Guilinggao. HAHA! Dessert! I need more guilinggao for my complexion la! Especially TOTM, really breakout ):
Soya milk
1/2 cup Meiji coffee milk
The rest had kway teow or fried rice and almond jelly for "supper" after training. Supper made me reach home at 12:30am!
Did I mention I have to wake up at 7am for TWC meeting? ): Means less than 5 hours of sleep for me. My hair is still damp! ):
Shall nap in the afternoon!
Anyway, check out my new battle scars! (:
My elbow and arm is bruised. Nice.
My shin is bruised from Monday's training. Nice. You can't see it from the photo but it's swollen. So there's a nice little lump there.
My blood blister on my little toe broke. Pain like hell. And still have to do sprints barefooted! And high knees and all! Always on our toes, literally.
My favourite one of all is the bruise on my thigh. It was bigger the other day :/
Muay Thai is not for weaklings.
Hugen asked me why the hell would I want to join the fight team. He doesn't understand how girls can put themselves through this kind of physical exertion or "torture". Well, I like to train. I can't imagine a life without training. I like pushing myself. Lactic acid is indeed my best friend! I don't particularly enjoy getting injured, but it's part and parcel of Muay Thai. That's why not everyone can do it. But I can! YES I CAN! I want to be strong!!!!!!!! We're not typical girls. Yes, Muay Thai girls are hot!
