ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

First practical driving lesson today. Met Daren Koh there. Also saw Munting, Dennis and Dianna there. A lot of AC people I've seen around in school too. Anyway, I was really quite nervous. But my instructor was very nice and we had fun chit-chatting and all... So overall, it was a great experience. Just got to work on my turns. But I got better after awhile of course. The first few times, you have no idea whether you are still in the lane or not. And there was once(so embarrassing), I stepped on the accelerator although I wanted to step on the brake. HAHA. Heng the instructor has his brake pedal too. If not die la... Daren said he was observing me for awhile. OK I WILL WORK ON MY BRAKING. Cannot brake too hard. Anyway, congrats to Daren for passing his TP test. Good la, can drive already. Too bad insurance got problem. Haha.

I'm starting work next week! Crap. It's gonna be hell. Gotta be at the office by 0545 everyday. People think it's so easy... It's not. Really. Working for my mum is HELL, I'm not even exaggerating. Yes, the money is good. But I couldn't survive there half a year. So luckily, uni will start to save me from the inevitable insanity that comes with working there. HAHA. That's if I can go to uni la. Plus, there's driving. All my lessons are scheduled at 2150 to 2310. Imagine getting up at 4 plus the next day to prepare for work. CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE THAT?! Does anyone want to be me then?

NLB just called me up to tell me I won 2 tickets to the body works exhibition. Preserved bodies here I come! I took part in that contest for fun. It was the day I went to the library with my mum and just before leaving we saw the contest question. Damn easy so I just entered. Actually, to think of it, the chances of winning are pretty high since I don't think many people actually borrow a minimum of 6 books which makes you eligible for the contest. Anyway, gotta see whether g(x) is free, if not I have to take someone else with me...

STOP HERE IF YOU ARE WATCHING GLEE! SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Watched the entire season 1 of Glee already. HAHAHA. Ok. Glee is so good. So Mr Schuester found out that his wife is only fake-pregnant and he left her. YAY! I can't stand her. She's so conniving. The whole Glee club knew that Quin's baby is Puck's and not Finn's but didn't tell Rachel, but she found out anyway. She, of course, told Finn(she loves him and wants him to herself). Finn beat up Puck and has had enough of Quin. Bad thing was sectionals was the next day or something. So Finn didn't go. But as usual with these kinda shows, Mr Schuester managed to convince him to go and he did. And of course they won. I know I'm missing out the entire role of Sue Sylvester, the Cheerios coach. She's been trying from day one to ruin the Glee club because Principal Figgins channeled some of the Cheerios budget to the Glee club. Anyway, before sectionals, she leaked the set list to the other 2 schools participating and somehow rigged it so that the McKinley High School Glee club went last. It would seem like they stole the songs from the other 2 schools. Eventually, they won cos they changed their songs at the very last minute. HOORAY!

Anyway, this is Puck. Quin said something really funny. Something like, "Even if the baby comes out with a mohawk, I will still go to the grave swearing it's Finn's."
FUNNY!!!

More flicks...

THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS

The story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary 'Imaginarium', a travelling show where members of the audience go through a magical mirror to explore their imaginations. Blessed with the gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that his first born child would be handed over to Mr Nick when she reaches the age of sixteen. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this 'coming of age' milestone and Dr Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls. Enlisting a series of wild, comical and compelling characters in his journey, Dr Parnassus promises his daughter's hand in marriage to the man that helps him win.
You have to watch this for yourselves. Pretty difficult to explain this show. For those who saw the movie posters, you realise that Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law are in the show as well. They actually play the same character. They look different when they enter the magical mirror. This is usually because the people he enters with imagine him to be whatever they want. The actual character, of course, is Heath Ledger's. Anyway, this was Heath Ledger's last role. He passed away halfway through filming. Maybe that's why they got the other 3 actors. But he did a fantastic job as usual. Such a talented young man. A tragic loss. I felt upset watching some parts of the show, especially when there was a scene of him hanging from under a bridge. It felt like I was looking at him when he really died. SIGH. Ok... I know some people will not understand how I can feel anything for anyone I don't know personally and stuff but some people do make an impression on you and have made profound influence so you do feel something. Especially when they go away way before they should. Some people tell me God only takes those he loves most away first. Sometimes, I like to believe that. Explains why some really good people die too young. Ok... As Heath said in his role as the Joker, "Why so serious?"

HACHIKO: A DOG'S STORY

It is based on the true story of a dog named Hachiko and a remake of the 1987 Japanese film Hachiko Monogatari.
This is the true story:
Hachiko, an Akita was found by a college professor from the University of Tokyo in 1924. Hachiko used to see the professor off at the door and greet him at the Shibuya Station when he got home from work by train. Unfortunately, the professor died from a stroke in 1925, leaving Hachiko waiting for him at the station. Although Hachiko was given away after the professor's death, he escaped and returned to the professor's former home. When he realised he no longer lived there, Hachiko returned to the exact station to wait for his deceased master's return. Day after day, Hachiko waited. He spent 10 years waiting until he passed away in 1935. In April 1934, a bronze statue of Hachiko was erected at Shibuya Station. Hachiko was also present at the unveiling. However, during World War II, the statue was recycled for the war effort. Later on in 1948, a second statue was modeled by the son of the original artist. The statue still stands till this day.
Amazing huh... I cried like hell. I spent the last one third of the show bawling my eyes out, until they were puffy. Never cried this much watching a show before. Just knowing how much love there must have been... In that one year that they spent together, it is obvious that Hachiko and the professor must have had a special relationship unlike any of our relationships with our pets. Or maybe, Hachiko is just much more intelligent? I don't know. But it sure is touching... I loved the show. SIGH. Will I watch it again? Yes. Like on the 14th of February, when the family is over for CNY dinner :) I hope everyone cries. They should.

GLEE

Anyway, an update from GLEE!!! Noah put 'Chronic Lady' into the cupcakes for the bake sale the Glee Club organised to raise funds so that they could hire a bus that could take Arty who is crippled to the sectionals with them. 'Chronic Lady' is a drug! That made people 'addicted' to the cupcakes. Perfect. Also, Finn just found a job so that he can support Quin who is pregnant with 'his daughter'(actually Noah's). Before news of the pregnancy scandal got out, Rachel gave the perverted school reporter her underwear so that he wouldn't run the story. NICE. By the way, Mr Schuester is a damn good dancer. I mean, the actor is really good at dancing. He looks nerdy and all, but he is GOOD.
At episode 10 now. DAMN. Only 3 more to go. Then what? Boring...

Gonna have my first driving lesson on the 4th. My mum is making me drive after work starting 22 Feb. So my lessons will be at 2150 to 2305 once work starts. And I gotta wait for my FTT for 2 months. To those who wanna get their license this year, I suggest booking your tests and etc ASAP.

Anyway, Grammy's was yesterday or something... The red carpet was like crap. Seriously. Even Taylor Swift, who usually wears pretty decent and pretty, girly dresses, wore something that made her look like she has bulges in all the wrong places.

Mary J Blige in Gucci. NICE!
Taylor Swift in Kaufman Franco. Notice the bulges around her torso. Very unflattering. And what's with all the shimmer?!
Keri Hilson in Dolce & Gabanna. BEST DRESSED! I think you should have noticed by now that I love mermaid dresses! Haha. Can't help it.

Lady Gaga in Armani Prive! I kinda like this on her though it's something any normal person would never wear. But certainly one of the better dresses she has worn, right? Have you seen her in her Kermit dress??? I'll show you...

There you go...

RICKY MARTIN!!! Where has he been??? Anyway, he looks good. He must be pretty old now. My maid's favourite singer :)

Just got my CNY clothes from BC today. It's going to be the first time in more than 5 years, maybe 8, that I'm wearing new clothes for CNY. I know it's supposed to be tradition but I'm not very Chinese. I just have an interest for Chinese traditional clothes and stuff like that. Anyway, this year, no cheongsam. Next year maybe, or the year after. The wonder of blogshops is that they allow you to buy really nicely designed clothes which are of good quality at reasonable prices. So why not?

Glee!

I spent the entire afternoon yesterday watching 6 episodes of Glee back to back. YES! It's so good. And really funny. I don't think I've ever been interested in a show like that. It's really really good! And the songs... Really really good. Can't wait to watch the rest of it. I like Cory Monteith's character. He's really good. They have some really good quotes in that show. One of the first times I laugh aloud to myself while watching a show alone. So that's good, right?

This is Cory Monteith. Nice right? Haha. He has the goofy thing going on. He's supposed to be Captain of the football team and lead male of the Glee club. And his cheerleader girlfriend is pregnant with his best friend's child. But she claims it's Cory's. So he wants to get a scholarship to college to increase his chances of getting a good job to support his child. He's good, ain't he? But I don't think he dances very well. Maybe cos he is super super tall. Freakishly tall. I think he has to be almost 190cm or something? Yeah anyway the show is good la. Check it out if you can :)

Anyway, went back to AC to get my Good Progress Award. Yay! I'm $250 richer now! Met Ervin and Valentino. Passed them the banana brownies that g(x) didn't quite like. Banana and chocolate go very well together ok?! Right... As I was saying... I passed them the brownies and they liked it a lot. It's nice to have people appreciate your baking. Haha. So I was walking with Ervin to find Tino, and his friends thought I was his girlfriend or something. I must look too young :( I was telling them I'm his OGL but they didn't quite believe and many of them had the raised eyebrow thing going on. So annoying la. Firstly, I'm attached. Duh. Secondly, I don't date younger guys! Those 2 reasons are enough. Plus, he's a player and he likes super many girls. HAHA. So he's just my friend la. Nothing wrong having a guy friend right? I think I've always gotten along well with guys since I was young cos they think I understand them. I think I do. Sometimes. Must be the growing up with guys. Oh well... So after the whole thing in school, we went to Cathay to watch the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. It was good la. Any movie with Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law has to be good right? And it was funny. However, it felt too long. Shall talk about the show some other time. Gotta go for driving soon. I'm damn unlucky. After I passed my BTT, their system faced some errors or something. Then they couldn't retrieve my results and stuff. So they are supposed to call me when they are done with my PDL. Today going for my FTT theory lesson. I'm looking forward to driving. But I don't know if I will suck at it? Maybe parking will have problems la :/

Ok la. Gotta go now. Tino asked me to meet him for lunch cos he lives beside BBDC but not today la. He got training and I'm not even hungry :/

GORGEOUS

Right... So it's been hell of a week. Worked until Monday for Maersk. And they made me do stupid things. You can't even start to imagine how much paper I photocopied for them. A few thousand. Maybe not even a few. Many thousands. And as a result, many paper cuts. DAMN. Papercuts suck like hell. They hurt more than normal cuts though they're so puny. It's like chilli padi. Small but powerful. Haha. Like me. Heh... That's what my family calls me. Or maybe it's because I'm small but am fiery like chilli padi? Anyway, back to the working. The most stupid thing I did was go back and forth to JP to cut keys. Long story. Don't even feel like talking about it. But the only good that came out from it was the break from photocopying... and maybe also the Jollibean Matcha and red bean drink and the guilinggao. Guilinggao rocks. It's the best dessert ever. I like it bitter, with just a little honey drizzled on top. The best one is from the Hock Hua Tonic or something like that. The one at Tan Chin Lee is also damn nice. Why do I suddenly crave for bamboo clam?! Crap... Anyway, the mochi from Taiwan is very very yummy. Thank you g(x). Haha.

It's Hollywood award season now and that means more time spent on looking at clothes. AH... I know I'm like some typical bimbo now but... I really want those dresses. Haha. Here are some of those I love!

Diane Kruger. STUNNING. Mustard dress from Jason Wu? Maybe. BEST DRESSED at the SAG Awards!!!

Lea Michele in a green Catherine Malandrino dress.

Emily Blunt at the Golden Globes in Dolce & Gabbana. Tulle strapless mermaid gown. NICE! BEST DRESSED at the Golden Globes.

Heidi Klum in Roberto Cavalli fishtail gown.

ARGH. Got to go now. Emergency. Till next time...

Life in this place

Okay. I'm officially getting bored. Been keeping myself occupied by seeking inspiration for my career in future, baking, reading, watching movies, eating, sleeping and mostly slacking. Wondering if I should go for that baking course. But it's damn expensive. Like almost $2000 dollars. Still thinking. Since work got postponed, I have to think of things to do other than driving. Tomorrow's my evaluation. Should be easy though. Or maybe I should go for that design course? AH I DON'T KNOW!

Anyway, more movie recommendations:
1) 500 Days of Summer (I give this 5 stars, 2 thumbs up plus all my toes!) Joseph Gordon Levitt. Nice one.
2) Brothers
3) Donnie Darko (4 stars!)
Both 2 and 3 star Jake Gyllenhaal. Or however you spell it. Haha. That's why I watched of course! He's really good in Donnie Darko. Stars sister Maggie Gyllenhaal as his sister too. A sci-fi kinda thing. Pretty deep. Deep is good (:
4) Inglorious Basterds
5) The Lovely Bones
Read the book. It's fantastic. Movie directed by Peter Jackson. It isn't out yet in Singapore though I recommend everyone to watch it when it does! I will. The trailer looks good. Hope it does the book justice.
6) The Hurt Locker
I have no idea if they are even going to screen this in Singapore. I hope they do!
7) Invictus
8) Up in the air
2 words: GEORGE CLOONEY. That's enough reason to watch it. Haha.

I, however, do not recommend the movie "Silent Hill". Guys should know this one. Based on that game. Stupid show :/ It's gonna give me nightmares for awhile. It's just disgusting. Really disgusting. Why the hell I watched it, I have no idea either.

Okay. Gotta meet someone soon. Trading clothes. Haha. Decided to trade those impulse buys of mine which I don't get the chance to wear anyway with things that are more functional for everyday use. Preparing for uni already. Haha. Hope I don't end up spending more money until I start working. I will go on a shopping spree after that. YES. Still have 2 pieces of clothing I'm trying to clear. Kept 2 cocktail dresses. My 2 favourites with the best fits. Good way to get money too. Since I have a lot of things I don't use. I will attempt to sell them soon.

Anyway, "Shadows" by Westlife is simply the best. And "Pants on the Ground". Hooray for American Idol. New season. Hilarious. I keep rewatching the auditions. I like the singing police officer. He's really good. And that 16 year old girl. WOW. I wish I could sing that well. Of course I can't. Oh well....

HMMMM

It's been a hell of a week. I never get to sleep. And I eat like no one's business. I'm no fan of rojak, but I ate the best rojak ever at Balestier. At the same place, I also had the best Hokkien noodles. And at Rochor beancurd, I had the soya bean with chin chow drink. Very nice! And the tau sar crystal bun. Yummy. I can't wait to go back there! Anyway, I was at Balestier picking tiles for the house. I think my toilets are gonna look darn good. Haha. Moving has been hell la. So I hope it will be worth all the trouble now. Cried when Mummy threw the dining table away. I spent so much time at that table. First was the O levels, then the 'A's. I spend more time at that table than on my bed. So I was emotional when she disposed it. WHY?! It was still in very very good condition! Sigh. Oh well. She better get me a comparable one lor. SOB!
After Balestier, we went to watch Avatar. Omg. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was damn good. Just perfect. Good job James Cameron and team! I want to go watch it again with gx. Sam Worthington. He looks good. Haha. Because he looks like Matthew Fox! Apparently he was the Terminator in Terminator Salvation. Not a fan of the Terminator series unfortunately. So I guess James Cameron must have enjoyed working with him. So he cast him at Jake Sully in Avatar. Anyway, the visuals are really good. We sat through the credits. Realised that one reason why it was very good is because Peter Jackson and George Lucas production teams were behind the sounds and visuals etc. 3D takes getting used to. But it is a good movie to watch in 3D I must say. Next 3D movie I want to watch is Alice in Wonderland? The Cheshire Cat is quite scary! And there's Johnny Depp! My favourite. Anyway, I've been watching many movies recently. Watched 3 back to back just a few days ago. Watched Superbad, 17 Again, The Pineapple Express, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Devil Wears Prada and Mr Woodcock. All are good. If you haven't watched any of it, please do! I especially liked Mr Woodcock and 17 Again. Ok. I know many people have something against Zac Efron. I used to. But that show is really good. And he's really good in it. Haha. That scene when he steps out of the Audi, in his aviators and swings on his leather jacket and is wearing skinny jeans. NICE. There is a sentence from Mr Woodcock that is simply hilarious. "You are a disgrace to all fat and gelatinous, out of shape little kids the world over!" I don't often laugh when watching shows. At least not that loudly. But that scene was the best! Anyway... I think the movie I would recommend everyone try to get hold of is Hotel Rwanda. If you haven't already watched it.
Just came back from my aunty's house today. We spent the entire afternoon making pineapple tarts. The best in the world. Secret recipe. My aunty says I can never sell it unless the profits go to charity. Haha. I'm definitely skilled in baking. LOL. And my jam rolling skills are unmatched. Meanwhile, my brother is good at the rubbing in method, but the flour gets everywhere when he does it. Funny thing... We forgot to bring the tarts back from Punggol. Nice.
Christmas is coming up soon guys. I'm dying in anticipation! P2 chalet tomorrow. Can't wait to see my friends again. (: See you!

3 in the morning

Today was hell of a hectic day. Moved over to my grandma's house while house is under renovation. It's like the good old days, very old days. The 'original' 3 cousins all sleeping in a room. I get the bed since I'm the only female. Had to wake up early to go monitor the movers who came about 2 hours late. At 11pm plus, I was still sitting under the block with my grandfather waiting for the final truck to come. My goodness. So boring. Before that was sitting in Mark's boot. Yes, I was sitting in the boot. Don't ask me why. I was sitting there and singing to myself cos I was so darn bored. I ate a slice of bread for dinner. After everything was shifted and stuff, it was almost 1am and we went to Marsiling for supper. I restrained myself from eating but couldn't help it. The tofu was damn nice. We ordered a lot of food so didn't manage to finish. So right now, I don't want to sleep yet cos I feel guilty about eating so late at night. I really don't want to get fat. And I've only just recovered from my flu so I haven't been able to exercise. NO! I REFUSE TO GET FAT. But Christmas is coming. And I'm making steamed cake and pineapple tarts this weekend. Oh no... That means I'll be eating it. Haha. Dammit! Why is food so good?!

Just realised I haven't showered since this afternoon. Disgusting piece of crap! Haha. Shall do so after waking up la. Look at the time. Such an unholy hour. Yet surprisingly, I'm not feeling that tired. And no way of sleeping now. The boys are playing some Star Wars game on the Xbox. I'm running out of things to do!!!

Goodnight world.
